The Channel Register has reported that 300 IT services jobs are to be axed at Siemens, with Bracknell and Maidenhead as key areas for job loss.
Online Tech publication The Channel Register was made aware of an internal memo to staff which advised that 100 operations division jobs were to go, alongside 160 project management and consultancy jobs and 40 finance and head office staff.
Bracknell and Maidenhead have been pinpointed as key areas for job loss, in addition to London and Frimley, as Siemens looks to move from a local to a global market. The cuts come as part of a series of job losses at Seimens, who confirmed in June 2008 that the company would reduce its 400,00 strong workforce by 17,000 employees.
