The buzz on Twitter intensifies as Radio Bracknell’s news, entertainment gossip and programme updates is followed by over 1,000 people across the globe.
Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows users to send ‘updates’ (or ‘tweets’ as they are known; text-based posts) to the Twitter website.
These include photographs which station Presenters and news team send in for people to view.
John Hicks, Station Director of Berkshire’s newest 24/7 music internet radio station, said: “As an experiment, we sent in a Twitter message about an upcoming radio show on Radio Bracknell dotcom and within five minutes an additional 35 listeners joined us on-air. This may be a small number but, as the word about Radio Bracknell spreads, so the impact of our station grows and our hard-working show Presenters achieve a wider, global, audience.”
